A new F1 format and Aston Martin future revealed

This weekend, the fifth grand prix of the year takes place in China as Formula 1 gears up for its first sprint weekend of 2024.

After a lengthy absence due to safety concerns surrounding COVID-19, the Shanghai International Circuit returns to the calendar for the first time since 2019.

Aston Martin commit to F1 until 2030

RacingNews365 understands that Aston Martin has committed to F1 until at least 2030, just a few days on from Fernando Alonso committing to the British outfit.

The news broke on Thursday evening that Alonso had signed a two-year contract extension with Aston Martin, keeping him in green until the end of 2026.

Max Verstappen has already voiced his disapproval of the event being held in China as the location has been absent from the calendar for the last five years.

Ricciardo details ‘excitement’ amid F1 slump

Daniel Ricciardo’s Formula 1 future is up in the air amid a difficult start to the 2024 season – however the RB driver is sensing an opportunity at this weekend’s Chinese Grand Prix.

The Shanghai International Circuit has historically been a strong one for the Australian driver.
